All the pieces feature designs of the Seven Species of the Land of Israel, which, as the Jewish Bible says, include wheat, barley, grapes, olives, dates, figs, and pomegranates. Together the Seven Species have come to symbolize the natural abundance of the Land of Israel.
Each item is sealed with a lacquer finish after painting to ensure that the entire Havdalah set remains waterproof.

Artist Yair Emanuel, a graduate of the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, lives and works in Jerusalem. Vivid and harmonious colors as well as a mixture of the old and the new characterize Emanuel’s work, which is designed and crafted in his Jerusalem studio. The principal techniques utilized encompass painting on silk, hand-embroidery, raw-silk appliqué and painting on wood.
