This woven cotton tallit set by Yair Emanuel features a tallit, a kippah and a matching bag. Made out of white fabric, this hand set is beautifully decorated with a colorful illustration of the Old City of Jerusalem, nestled inside the frames of one of the gates of Jerusalem in silk which is sewn onto the fabric.

The tallit also displays the sentence in Hebrew, “…asher kideshanu bemitzvotav vitzivanu lehitatef betzitzit” across the yoke of this pretty shawl, meaning “G-d made us holy through commanding us to don the tzitzit” in English.
The kippah and the matching bag has the same motif. .

Artist Yair Emanuel, a graduate of the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, lives and works in Jerusalem. Vivid and harmonious colors as well as a mixture of the old and the new characterize Emanuel’s work, which is designed and crafted in his Jerusalem studio. The principal techniques utilized encompass painting on silk, hand-embroidery, raw-silk appliqué and painting on wood.
