This woven cotton tallit set by Yair Emanuel features a tallit, a kippah and a matching bag. Made out of white fabric, this set features a hand painted colorful symbols of all the tribes in silk which is sewn onto the fabric.
The tallit also displays the sentence in Hebrew, “…asher kideshanu bemitzvotav vitzivanu lehitatef betzitzit” across the yoke of this pretty shawl, meaning “G-d made us holy through commanding us to don the tzitzit” in English.
The kippa is also multicolored and displays symbols of the Tribes. Across the matching bag of the set is written in Hebrew, “Yachad Shivtei Yisrael” or, “The Tribes of Israel are one.”. .

Artist Yair Emanuel, a graduate of the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, lives and works in Jerusalem. Vivid and harmonious colors as well as a mixture of the old and the new characterize Emanuel’s work, which is designed and crafted in his Jerusalem studio. The principal techniques utilized encompass painting on silk, hand-embroidery, raw-silk appliqué and painting on wood.
