This intricately crafted Torah Yad, or Pointer comes in a silver version with gold chain and vice versa, and has a charming Jerusalem centerpiece, with one side featuring the Tower of David and the walls of the Holy City of Jerusalem and at the other side with an oval plaque on which is engraved – If I Forget Thee O Jerusalem” -phrase from the Book of Psalms- in Hebrew as “Im Eshkchecha Yerushalyim, Teshkach Yemeni. A yad (Hebrew: יד) (Yiddish: האַנט), literally, “hand,” is a Jewish ritual pointer, popularly known as a Torah pointer, used by the reader to follow the text during the Torah reading from the parchment Torah scrolls.

Artist Yealat Chen – Yealat Chen, an Israeli artist with Yemenite roots, has been an artisan for over 25 years. From her studio in beautiful Southern Israel, her unique work reflects her Yemenite background.
A master craftsperson, Chen has developed the use of the alloyed zinc metal, called “zamak,” which she combines with stone and wood, resulting in the creation of stunning, high quality contemporary Jewish art.
