This wooden Mezuzah is brightly colored and features Jerusalem’s landmark buildings, such as Montefiore’s windmill.
At the top, the letter ש(shin) that stands for “Shaddai,” one of the biblical names of God, also serves here as an acronym for Shomer Daltot Yisrael, “Guardian of Israel’s doors”
The mezuzah is hand painted using acrylic colors and then lacquered to ensure that the color is retained.
Artist Yair Emanuel, a graduate of the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, lives and works in Jerusalem.
