This beautiful white set consists of a tallit, a tallit bag and a kippah, decorated with a gray and blue geometrical pattern with the Star of David. The tallit also displays the Hebrew blessing over the tallit, “…asher kideshanu bemitzvotav vitzivanu lehitatef be tzitzit,” meaning “G-d made us holy through commanding us to don the tzitzit”. The light blue words are framed by a beautiful gray and blue geometrical pattern with the Star of David. The tallit bag is also decorated with this pattern and incorporates the Hebrew word “tallit” in the center.
Artist Yair Emanuel, a graduate of the Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, lives and works in Jerusalem. Vivid and harmonious colors as well as a mixture of the old and the new characterize Emanuel’s work, which is designed and crafted in his Jerusalem studio. The principal techniques utilized encompass painting on silk, hand-embroidery, raw-silk appliqué and painting on wood.
